Chuck: The, uh, the latest book? It’s kind of weird.
Sam: Weird like how?
Chuck: It’s very Vonnegut.
Dean: Slaughterhouse Five Vonnegut or Cat’s Cradle Vonnegut?
Sam: What?
Dean: What?#I love how you get this look into Dean like here we are faced with something straight out of weirdoville and Chuck makes a reference that… #But it’s DEAN who picks it up who mentions two very specific examples of Vonnegut being weird and it just trips off the tongue #He’s not mentioning books he saw in Sam’s bag or things he skimmed in a library while watching a mark #these are books he’s read poured over and cares enough about to be able to reference them in a moment #Which tells me as much as we may think we know about Dean #Hell about any of the boys #there’s still a shit ton of deeper meanings and past experiences that we’re only guessing at #And honestly I know there’s more to Dean than just being a cynical porn and pie loving douche bag with violent tendencies and trust issues #I just wish he’d be the one to grow instead of or NOVEL CONCEPT beside Sam
